The citizens' weakened confidence in politics has encouraged political actors to establish direct communication with them. As social media grows in popularity, political institutions have been using it for more autonomy in the creation and dissemination of information. This study analyses the use of Facebook, the most popular social media worldwide, by the Regeringen, the government of Denmark, and by La Moncloa, the government of Spain. First, the core theories of political communication are broached. Then, each country’s political communication cultures are discussed. At last, a structural analysis of the Regeringen and La Moncloa Facebook pages and a manual categorization of the posts published throughout June 2020 are carried out. The posts are categorized according to DePaula, Dincelli and Harrison’s (2018) typology of government social media communication, which consists of information provision, input seeking, online dialogue/offline interaction and symbolic presentation. This research aims at understanding the content of the posts on the Facebook pages and, taking into account the Danish and Spanish political communication cultures, discussing and comparing the results.

Primary percutaneous intervention for acute occlusion of a native coronary artery may be complicated by distal embolization of plaque or thrombotic debris, with infarct extension. We tested the clinical application of a new therapeutic strategy combining maximal antiplatelet therapy, with glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibition, and adjunctive mechanical protection from distal embolization and direct aspiration of thrombus with a new balloon and catheter system (PercuSurgetrade mark). Successful aspiration of thrombus could be obtained in 7 out of 8 attempted procedures, with inability to negotiate the angulated take-off of the circumflex coronary artery in one patient. The current mechanical characteristics of the device, primarily developed for use in larger saphenous vein grafts, and certain caveats and limitations are discussed. New dedicated systems should be available in the near future for the native coronary circulation. Excellent immediate angiographic results were obtained in all treated patients, without evidence of loss of distal branches and no intraprocedural complications.

This article is based in the methodological proposal presented by the author in his master thesis
defended in February 2007 at the University of Minho. In his research, the author measured and
compared the potentialities of the Internet explored by general Portuguese cyberjournals
(news/journalistic websites), creating and applying a table of measurement of the levels of those
potentialities. The results show a low exploitation of the potentialities offered by the Internet (23,3%), in
particular of the ones considered most important – hipertextuality, interactivity and multimediality
The table was constructed in order to establish comparisons at different moments and between
cyberjournals of different kinds, countries and targets. This table of analysis allows to know if the
exploitation the Internet potentialities are high or low, as well as to establish a ranking of the
cyberjournals.

Abstract Este artigo tem por base a construção de uma proposta metodológica, através da qual é possível medir e comparar as potencialidades da Internet exploradas pelos ciberjornais (sites noticiosos/jornalísticos) portugueses de informação geral de âmbito nacional. Para o conseguir, criei e apliquei uma tabela de medição dos níveis de aproveitamento das potencialidades da Internet.
